What is the Endocannabinoid System?

The Endocannabinoid System Explained
CBD, like all cannabinoids, interacts with your native endocannabinoid system. This central core system’s primary role is to maintain equilibrium of your body despite outside influences and fluctuations – this is known as homeostasis. Homeostasis is a key part in our functioning bodies, and keeping it maintained and well-balanced is of the utmost importance.
We’ve created this illustration to give you a visual overview of where your cannabinoid receptors are located and what cannabinoids attach to those receptors. While CBD is shown to affect multiple organs throughout the body, there are less well-known cannabinoids that when combined (like in our full spectrum hemp oil), can potentially assist in achieving your desired results.
Obstacles such as worry, stress, aches and pains all contribute to throwing us off balance on a day-to-day basis. That’s where the endocannabinoid system comes into play. The ECS works to keep our bodies balanced from these stressors on a constant basis, making it one of the most critical receptor-based systems in our body. The ECS influences and regulates many functions in our bodies including metabolism, neurons, and blood sugar levels.
Cannabinoids, such as CBD, target specific receptors throughout the body. When using a full spectrum product, multiple cannabinoids, terpenoids and receptors work together to increase the desired result of hemp oil products. This process is often referred to as the “entourage effect”.
Animals Have Endocannabinoid Systems Too
And for all you animal lovers out there – yes, animals have endocannabinoid systems as well. CBD has shown promising results for a variety of animals, most notably, dogs and cats. Domesticated animals suffer from many of the same ailments as humans, so it makes sense that your furry companion can benefit from full spectrum hemp oil pet tinctures as well.
